So far, we have learned about where sin originated, and who the enemy, the originator of sin is.  We learned the enemy caused war in Heaven and was cast down.  Luke 10:18 , We also learned that this enemy seeks whom he may destroy here on earth.  He is known as he who seeks whom he may destroy because he knows he has a short time. Revelation 12:12

We also learned that God is wisdom and all wisdom comes from God.  Wisdom in Proverbs 1:20,  is personified as a woman calling out to every one going about our busy lives to heed wisdom.

Today we will expand upon this struggle.  There is a struggle between Satan who wants to destroy us, and God who wants to save us.

So what are we to do.  When you look at the world and see the suffering, struggles, disease, greed and death, it is not hard to want something better.  What makes it easier is to learn how God loves you, and in fact He loves all people and desires that all will be saved.

1 Timothy 2:3-4, “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.”

Read 2 Peter 3:9, John 1:12, 1 Peter 3:18 and Revelation 22:17.

If Satan has an issue with God, what does that have to do with me?

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

After a period of glory, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies sent me against the nations who plundered you. For he said, “Anyone who harms you harms my most precious possession.

Satan knows he cannot harm God directly, but he knows that by harming us, he is harming Gods most precious possession.  A possession so great that He sent His Son to die to save us.

Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

How can we stand strong against such an enemy?

When David went up against Goliath, he must have looked pathetic and small before the impressive giant.  But what we face is fiercer than Goliath.

Read Ephesians 6:10-20.  What is the armour of God and how does that apply to our day to day struggles in our lives.

What practical ways can we put on the Armour of God.  This battle can be felt daily in our lives.  The pull of temptation, the push of greed and envy, the pull of selfishness and the push of anger often affect us daily as Satan seeks whom he may devour.

As we close, read  James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8-9, 1 Peter 2:9.

How do we understand our part in this battle and the daily choices that we need to make?
